Atticus King Is Writing His Own Symphony

Atticus King is a seeker. His thirst for knowledge and curiosity over new ideas is almost insatiable. A desire to contribute and make a difference in the world is the fuel that drives his work, hobbies, art and family life.  A mindset for innovating guides the serial entrepreneur as he invests in enterprises that aim to disrupt industries. “I like to invest in businesses and in people that I believe are passionate and will find success in it.”

Music is as much a passion for Atticus as it is a life calling. It is, according to him, satisfying in ways that aren’t just for leisure. In his home, an impressive studio is set up with professional-grade musical instruments and recording equipment. It is where he spends most of his time, sometimes even hosting casual jam sessions with friends and bandmates. He also dabbles in visual arts but always finds his creative instincts leading him back inside the recording studio.

He shares this love for good music with family, too. “Music is social, so I get to jam with my wife, she sings, and I want to get the kids involved too.” The father of twins and an adorable two-year-old toddler, Atticus explains that early exposure to music is one of the best ways to enhance cognitive development.

He adds, “We don’t have a particular favorite song, but my favorite memory was of Kim loving this Japanese song First Love by Hikaru Utada.” Despite not knowing Japanese, his wife loved the song so much she started singing it acapella in the taxi on the way to the airport in Tokyo. “My wife has a lot of quirky talents that amuse me, so now when we jam to that song I always remember that moment in our taxi ride in Japan rocking out with our Japanese driver.”

Even his choice of destinations during trips are largely influenced by a love for music. He emphasized that traveling “way too much” is the best way to learn and discover the world. “Vienna is the most beautiful city I’ve ever seen. It’s gorgeous, and it’s got a super-rich musical heritage, all the great composers have been through Vienna.” He also shares that his second home is Oregon where his mother resides. It is a favorite place to visit for the familiar home-cooking that he grew up with.

There are trips lined up for the summer, most of which will likely be inspired by his drive for discovery and music. Between business, family life, health, and wanderlust, Atticus subscribes to basic grooming routines that help him to live his best life.

Atticus’ Tips for Great Skin:

1. Watch what you eat. If you don’t want to have oily skin, eat clean.
2. Get enough sleep!
3. Exercise, it’s a natural cleanse.

Atticus admits he’s not the best person to ask when it comes to skincare, but he gladly still divulges his routine. “I wear a lot of hats,” he shares, so the products he uses are simple but efficient for the man-on-the-go. After his morning runs, he starts with Perricone MD’s High Potency Classics Nutritive Cleanser followed by the Murad Hydrating Toner to restore balance to his face.

To keep his hair shiny and full, Clarins’ Invigorating Shine Shampoo does the trick, as does the Phytonovathrix Global Anti-Hairloss Treatment. On days when he has to, shaving with the Clarins Smooth Shave Gel and The Fuzzy Duck Aftershave Balm help a lot. His scent of choice is easily Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Gentle Fluidity because “I like to smell clean.”
