Makeup Tips for the Rainy Days Ahead

Rainy Day A

Summer isn’t even over but the rainy days have already “trickled” in. While it’s a drag to wear makeup during the rainy days, you don’t have to go through such hassle. I’ve got the techniques and tips to still looking all made up even when it rains.

Prime Me Up

Like lingerie that smoothens and flatters your figure, makeup primers do the same thing for your face. It instantly mattifies, blurs wrinkles, and minimizes the appearance of pores. Plus, it creates a velvet base that helps makeup stay on for longer. My current favorite would have to be Happy Skin Instabeauty Blur Cream Primer Foundation. I love that this primer corrects and blurs my skin imperfections. Another bonus is that it also moisturizes and protects my skin thanks to its vitamin e content.

Think Tint

Much like primer, what you put on your face after should matter. Rather than applying a heavy amount of foundation, I suggest you use tinted moisturizer because this not only works better than foundation, but it also lasts longer. So far, I love NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Alaska. It feels so smooth and soft on the skin. I also love that it’s so lightweight that I barely even feel it on my face.

Waterproof Everything

This rainy season, it’s important to invest in makeup products that are waterproof especially when it comes to your mascara. I take it that you wouldn’t want to look like a soap opera character with black mascara running down your cheeks now, would you? For mascara, I pick Benefit’s BADgal Waterproof Mascara. This waterproof mascara lasts the whole day, no matter what the weather. I like that it’s so easy to apply and that it dries instantly so I can add multiple coats in one go.

Matte Matters

If you want your lip makeup to last through the rainy day, I highly suggest you go for products that are matte. I’m currently hooked on Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest. I love that this matte lip color is lightweight but offers full coverage. Also, thanks to its components which are jojoba oil, kendi oil, and Shea butter, my lips are moisturized.

Final Finish

So your makeup can weather through the storm, the final step is to finish up with a finishing spray. Finishing sprays help set your makeup, much like a hair spray sets your hairstyle for the entire day. Right now, I’m totally into Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe and Rose. This also doubles as a spray for dry hair. It’s my instant pick me upper as well.
