Your Guide to a Post-Summer Skincare and Hair Care Routine

All good things come to an end. Unfortunately, that includes the summer. After the beach getaways, gloriously tanned skin, and natural beach waves, we’re now back to work, back to reality, and back to the rainy season.

The fun summer activities could have caused a bit of damage on your hair and skin, especially when they’re exposed to too much heat from the sun.

That’s why a good post-summer routine is to hydrate and moisturize your skin and hair. Here’s a post-summer routine we recommend to bid the happy summer goodbye.

1. Exfoliate dead skin.

According to AWomansHealth.com, “When old skin cells start to pile up on the surface of the skin, it can leave skin looking dull, rough, and dry. Furthermore, the build-up of dead skin cells can result in excess oil and clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne.”

That’s why the first step of your post-summer routine is to exfoliate dead skin on your face and body.

Algenist Algae Brightening Mask (Php 3,250.00)

For the face, you can use the Algenist Algae Brightening Mask. This luxurious mask gently exfoliates with real leaves of sea kelp and a freshly scented blue-green algae silt base creating a visibly more radiant and even toned complexion.

Laura Mercier Body Scrub Gel (Php 2,050.00)

For the body, you can use the Laura Mercier Body Scrub Gel. Your skin will feel refreshed and revived. This gel cleanser gently exfoliates while removing impurities without drying or stripping skin of its natural oils.

2. Moisturize your skin using body lotion or body oil.

After exfoliating, the next step is to moisturize your skin. Cleansing and exfoliating your skin sometimes strips your skin of its natural oil and moisture, so this step is important.

Acca Kappa White Moss Body Lotion (Php 1,850)

This moisturizing lotion is scented with White Moss fragrance, an iconic and classic scent from Acca Kappa. It contains lemon extract, known for its invigorating, revitalizing properties, and Provitamin B5 with calming, soothing properties. It also contains an important mixture of Wheat Germ Oil, Soy Lecithin and Vitamin C with antioxidant properties.

Clarins Anti-Eau Body Treatment Oil (Php 3,850.00)

This product is perfect for your legs, which may have become dryer over the summer. The Clarins Anti-Eau Body Treatment Oil is a combination of essential oils that give your legs a more refined look.

Pure plant extracts including Broom, Geranium and Marjoram help eliminate toxins. Your skin is left feeling firm and energized. You can use this as a massage oil, too!

3. Rehydrate your hair after a beach trip.

Don’t forget to take care of your crowning glory! Your hair went through intense heat, sun, and sand while you were at the beach.

Phyto Phytojoba Mask (Php 1,450.00)

Treat it to some TLC by using this intense hydrating brilliance mask from Phyto. This is a deeply hydrating, shine-enhancing mask that weightlessly restores softness and luster to dry hair. This indulgent conditioning mask enriched with jojoba oil melts into hair to moisturize intensely and detangle weightlessly.

We hope you enjoy treating yourself to a relaxing post-summer cleanse. Saying goodbye to summer doesn’t have to be sad–it can be fun and relaxing, too!

Eau de Sens Hair Mist 30ml (Php 2950)

After you wash and style your hair, spritz some Diptyque Hair Mist all over it. Byrdie beauty writer Kaitlyn Mclintock wrote, “The scent will waft out of your strands all day, while the camelia oil–infused formula protects, smooths, and imparts shine. Essentially, it’s a hair perfume and a nourishing hair oil all in one.”

The Diptyque Hair Mist comes in the scents Eau Rose and Eau des Sens.
