While the right makeup accentuates all the best features of your face, it won\u2019t hurt to pay attention to your nails as well if you want to perfect the latest selfie craze called fingermouthing. So before you jump on the selfie wagon, here\u2019s my take on the five steps to picture perfect nails.<\/p>\n

1.Strengthen and Moisturize<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Nails<\/p>\n

Before anything else, it\u2019s important to strengthen your nails. If there\u2019s one product I totally swear works, it\u2019s Dior Huile Abricot<\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s a thick serum type moisturizer that comes in a tube with a felt-tip applicator. So how do I know it works wonders? I\u2019ve used it for just a week, and I noticed instant results! My nails always get chipped and my cuticles are too tough. Yet, with this moisturizer, my nails not only become stronger but my cuticles have become healthier and softer.<\/p>\n

\u00a02. Create the Perfect base<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you want your nail polish to last longer, then I suggest using a base coat. Try on Deborah Lippmann Fast Girls Base Coat<\/a><\/strong>. One swipe dries in an instant and creates the perfect smooth base. It definitely lives up to its name. By the time I swiped on the base onto my thumb, my pinky was already dry.<\/p>\n

3. Get Rid of Ragged and Dry Cuticles<\/strong><\/p>\n

For cuticle care right before a manicure, I highly suggest L’Occitane Shea Nail and Cuticle Nourishing Oil<\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s formulated with 30% Shea oil. Packaged in a tube with a brush applicator, it\u2019s easy to apply and doesn\u2019t leave mess on your fingernails. A plus, it doesn\u2019t leave a greasy and sticky feeling. If you change your nail polish often, like me, then this would be your cuticle and nails\u2019 best friend. It helps restore severely ragged and dry cuticles from too much manicures.<\/p>\n

4. Pretty Polish<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gel manicures are pretty expensive, but they last longer than the usual manicures. If you want nail polish that will last for days, I suggest you try the professional gel manicure from OPI. My latest favorite is OPI in Relentless Ruby<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 ruby red which matches my fiery and outgoing personality perfectly.<\/p>\n

5. Top It All Off<\/strong><\/p>\n
